1834, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is the largest, busiest, and
oldest continuously operating commuter railroad in the United
States. In 2024, this 24/7/365 operation served 75.5 million riders
on a system that stretches nearly 120 miles – from Penn Station and
Grand Central Madison in Manhattan to Montauk on the eastern tip of
Long Island. SUMMARY : This position provides centralized support
for the Long Island Rail Road's Office of Innovation (OOI) by
driving project coordination and data analytics across departmental
initiatives. The role emphasizes project support through the
development and maintenance of program-level and project-level
reports, dashboards, and performance analytics to enable
data-driven decision-making. Key responsibilities include managing
project documentation, tracking milestones, analyzing Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs), and preparing actionable insights
for leadership. The position also supports strategic initiatives by
leveraging data to identify trends, optimize workflows, and improve
project outcomes. In addition, this role will handle essential
administrative functions such as budget monitoring, audit reviews,
and HR coordination, ensuring compliance and operational
efficiency. This position drives centralized coordination and
execution of projects within the Long Island Rail Road's Office of
Innovation (OOI). The role focuses on project management and data
analytics, including developing and maintaining program-level and
project-level reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to
enable informed decision-making. Responsibilities include managing
project documentation, tracking milestones, analyzing KPIs, and
delivering actionable insights to leadership. The position also
leverages data to identify trends, optimize workflows, and improve
project outcomes. In addition, the role includes administrative
responsibilities such as budget oversight, audit reviews, and HR
coordination to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsibilities may include, but are
not limited to: Plan, organize and monitor departmental projects,
Track Milestones, deliverables, and timelines, Ensure alignment
with organizational goals Manage the development and implementation
of office and program related systems and processes. Coordinate and
manage the centralized administrative requirements set forth by
LIRR, MTA, FTA, and others. Prepare and support OOI with required
human resource needs. Develop and maintain dashboards, report, and
KPI’s, analyze project performance metrics and trends, Provide
actionable insights for leadership decision-making. Update policies
and procedures for related coordination activities; review and
coordinate procedures and training on the administrative elements
of the railroad as associated with department goals and related
administration; and conduct internal reviews, closeouts, and audit
assessments. Identify inefficiencies using data analytics.
Recommend and implement process improvements. Support innovation
initiatives through data driven strategies. Prepare reports,
presentations, research and studies, associated with projects
goals. Manage project and departmental budgets. Prepare financial
reports and assist with audits. Ensure compliance with fiscal
policies. Maintain processes between project staff, consultants,
contractors, and internal railroad departments that reflect the
current LIRR procedures, practices, and internal controls. Handle
HR related tasks (onboarding, scheduling, documentation). Manage
general administrative activities as needed. Select, develop and
motivate personnel within the department. Provide prompt and
effective coaching and counseling. Review performance of
subordinates. Create and maintain a professional environment that
respects individual differences. Promote safe work practices and
provide safe working conditions ensuring adherence to guidelines of
company safety policies and procedures. Lead by example. Perform
other assignments as requested by Senior Management REQUIRED
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences
(BA/BS) in Business, Engineering, Finance, or other related field
of study. Demonstrated, directly related, equivalent experience and
education may be considered in lieu of the degree, subject to
approval Minimum 7 years of experience preferably in an Office
Management, Project Management environment with emphasis on
planning, management, and/or administration Minimum 3 years of data
management and analysis experience Must be able to demonstrate
excellent oral, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Must be able to organize reports, can analyze and recommend
solutions to coordination problems Must be able to read and write
reports and/or procedures and read and interpret audits. Strong
Computer Skills and knowledge of management systems/databases are
desirable. Must be able to demonstrate effective business
partnerships, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact
effectively with all staff members of all levels, with a high level

INFORMATION : Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law &
the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking
position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure
(FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government
(the “Commission”). Actual salary offers may vary based on
individual work experience. The annual salary range is subject to
change and may be modified at the company’s discretion. Employees
driving company vehicles must complete defensive driver training
once every three years for current MTA drivers, or within 180 days
of hire or transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving
position. Current employees should be in their current position 12
months prior to starting a new role and must possess a satisfactory
