DescriptionThe Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at the NYU
Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full time,
non-tenure track, renewable faculty position in Water Resources
Engineering, at the rank of Industry Assistant Professor or
Industry Associate Professor, with a start date of September 1,
2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching
undergraduate and graduate-level courses in water resources
engineering, fluid mechanics, and related disciplines. Additional
duties include mentoring undergraduate and graduate students,
engaging with industry professional organizations and networks,
promoting programs within and outside the university, and service
to the department, school, and university.QualificationsTeaching
experience with evidence of teaching excellence is required.
Applicants must have earned a doctoral degree in Civil or
Environmental Engineering and have several years of academic and/or
industry experience. Alternatively, candidates with an MS in Civil
or Environmental Engineering and 15 years of water resources
engineering professional experience will also be considered.
Candidates with a Professional Engineering (PE) license are
strongly encouraged to apply, as are those with the ability to
integrate computing and machine learning applications into their
courses.

Pay Transparency Act, the annual (9 month) base salary range for
this position is $85,000-$125,000 for the Industry Assistant
Professor rank and $100,000-$150,000 for the Industry Associate
