Description Position at MTA Construction & Development This
position is eligible for telework , which is currently one day per

Director, Project Management WORK LOCATION: 2 Broadway (or field
office) HOURS OF WORK: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or as required
(7.5HR/DAY) JOB FAMILY: CON Grade: 004 SALARY RANGE: $105,575 to
$131,969 DEADLINE: Open Until Filled The Interborough Express (IBX)
would provide a transformative new transit connection between
Brooklyn and Queens by supplying a direct rail link between Sunset
Park and Jackson Heights in less than forty minutes - with service
projected every 5 minutes during the peak. Nineteen stations are
planned over an existing 14-mile rail corridor, allowing for
connections to 17 subway lines, 50 bus routes and the Long Island
Railroad . The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for
managing various aspects of the IBX project when they arise ,
including those related to project design , environmental review ,
stakeholder engagement, public outreach and commercial matters
within the IBX business unit in the MTA Construction and
Development (C&D) Delivery d epartment. This position involves
managing such activities to ensure they are accomplished efficient
ly , on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with relevant
policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. The Project
Manager monitors project tasks , mitigates risk and resolves
project issues, consults with internal and external parties and
provides recommendations to senior management for critical issue
resolution. This position coordinates project activities with
C&D and other MTA personnel and manages consultants,
contractors, staff and agency forces in the safe and efficient
execution of the IBX capital project and related initiatives . The
Project Manager’s primary responsibilities are enumerated above;
however, the IBX project will require team members to frequently
participate in activities outside of their primary functions and
coordinate with team members in a variety of project roles – this
will be the norm and not the exception. Responsibilities The
Project Manager will contribute directly towards the successful
design and ultimate delivery of the IBX project and related
initiatives. The candidate will work closely with the project team
to c oordinate project activities in all phases of the project
lifecycle , from planning, design , commercia l and construction.
Identify project issues and risks and ensure timely resolution and
mitigation. Coordinate project activities with the project team,
C&D staff, consultants, contractors, MTA partners and other
stakeholders. Recommend solutions to senior management for the
resolution of critical issues. Manage the preparation of reports,
presentations, research, and studies. Review reports and provide
critical feedback. S ummarize key findings to senior management.
Attend meetings with the public, elected officials and stakeholder
groups and present project materials. Manage and monitor progress
against project scope, schedule, and budget. Review and approve
contract invoices and other project charges based on established
procedures. Ensure expenditures are properly charged. Create a
professional environment that respects individual differences and
enables all employees to develop and contribute to their full
potential. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering , Architecture, Construction or Project Management,
Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field. Must
have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Licensed
Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is
desirable. PMP and CCM Certifications are preferred. Excellent
communication , presentation and interpersonal skills. Must have
focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational
effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Must possess excellent
team building, listening, problem - solving, and prioritization
skills. Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment,
Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.), and strong business
administrative skills (i.e. , presentations, report and letter
writing, time management, etc.). Other Information Pursuant to the
