JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Cardiologist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Williamsport, PA Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Call Coverage Period: Dec 1, 2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 8a 5p (Clinic) On-Call Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 5p 8a (Weeknight Call); Sat Sun, 24-hour call 8a 8a Call Type: In-House; Telephone; 30-minute response time Call Ratio: Weekly clinic with call weekend call Call Response Time: 30 minutes PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults 98%, Pediatrics 2% Patient Volume: 3 10 patients/day Admissions: Average 5 while on call Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Cardiology, consults, TEEs, Cardioversions, Stress Tests FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: II EMR: Epic & Cerner Powerchart Specialty Backup: CT Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, EP, Trauma/ACS, Ortho, Neurosurgery Support Staff: APP coverage typically 8a-12p, PA-C assistance in AM PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes (Full and Temporary Privileges available) Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (Airfare, lodging, parking, mileage, rental car, ground transportation) Lodging Cap: $175/night at non-preferred hotels (no incidentals permitted) Airfare: Economy seating, no upgrades, 1 checked bag Rental Car: Mid-size car (AprNov, $75/day cap) | Mid-size 4WD SUV (DecMar, $100/day cap) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs) Cardioversions JOB REQUIREMENTS Active PA License or IMLC BC in Cardiology DEA ACLS, BLS Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty Proficiency with Epic and Cerner DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide IP & OP cardiology care Cover weekday clinic, weeknight call, and/or 24-hr weekend call Conduct IP rounding, consults, TEEs, cardioversions, and image readings Proctor stress tests occasionally Collaborate with APPs and PA-Cs for patient management Respond to calls, with most handled via phone triage; rare in-person stat TEE for dissection Top Reasons to Choose a Locum Tenens Assignment Build a wide professional network by collaborating with different healthcare teams, opening doors for future career prospects and collaborations.
