Insp?r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring an Associate Director of Resident Experience for its new Insp?r Carnegie Hill property.  Recently opened in March 2021, Insp?r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units.  It offers assisted living, enhanced care and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model.

The Associate Director of Resident Experience:  Provide diversified programs through individual and group activities enabling each resident to engage in cultural, spiritual, physical, political, social, and intellectual programs and events.  Accountable for all programs offered meeting the needs, skill levels, and interests of all the residents at Insp?r.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form to associates, families, and residents
  • Assist in coordination with vendors and community partners
  • Conduct quarterly resident surveys evaluating activities and suggesting new ones
  • Prepares a schedule of activities one month in advance of its implementation and amends to reflect
    changes. Reviews with General Manager before finalizing and posting. Must possess computer skills to create calendar online/electronically
  • Ensures that a full activity program is offered seven days a week
  • Maintains resident birthday list and mails birthday cards to residents in a timely manner
  • Participates in the care planning of residents by communicating observations to Health Services both directly and at Service Plan meetings; maintains a record of resident’s activities
  • Posts the monthly, weekly and daily schedule of activities in public areas and nursing station;
    distributes to Department Managers
  • Co-leads monthly Resident Meeting with General Manager and works with General Manager on
  • Maintain adequate records and staffing schedules
  • Creates a record of the schedule of activities, planned and implemented and maintain record for six
  • Assures that all program personnel receive appropriate in-service education, including comprehensive dementia training as per Community policy
  • Responsible for meeting monthly budget targets, monetary and labor hours, with any variances to be
    discussed with General Manager; participates in budgeting process
  • Maintains appropriate attendance, including on-time meetings and team events, and notifies supervisor if late or unable to work, in accordance with personnel policies; notifies supervisor in advance of work schedule variations
  • Be flexible in work schedule to accommodate special events, evening and weekend programs, and MOD schedule
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor



  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field required; Masters preferred.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in the older adult resident experience field.
  • Must possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of life.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and creativity
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary  
  • Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and be able to maintain composure and objectivity   
  • Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.  
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States.  Criminal background check is required.
