Job Description Job Description Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician Job Description The Quality Assurance Lab Technician will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety within the facility. The role involves following cGMP and BRC standards, conducting quality control checks on the production floor, and performing lab testing on raw materials and in-process products. Additionally, the technician will advise on updating Standard Operating Procedures, conduct internal audits, perform investigations and root-cause analyses, and manage data entry and reporting using Excel. Effective communication with all manufacturing departments and leadership is essential, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities Follow cGMP and BRC standards. Conduct quality control checks on the production floor. Perform lab testing on raw materials and in-process products. Advise on updating Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct internal audits and perform investigations and root-cause analysis. Complete data entry and reporting using Excel. Engage in cross-functional communication with manufacturing departments and leadership. Essential Skills Experience in quality assurance and quality control. Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and BRC standards. Proficiency in Excel and documentation control. Understanding of biology, chemistry, food science, and microbiology testing. Experience with laboratory equipment and lab documentation. Ability to perform titrations and microbiological testing. AS in a Scientific discipline with 1-2 years of experience in food quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications AS or BS in Biology or a related Scientific discipline. Bilingual abilities are preferred. Strong mathematics and computer usage skills. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment The plant operates 24/7, and this position is for the 3rd shift from Sunday to Thursday. The role includes a $0.75 shift differential. Candidates will receive a $1 raise after a 15-week training period and a bi-weekly bonus for perfect attendance. The work environment includes an Assistant Quality Manager and three technicians on each shift. Per GMP guidelines, artificial nails, eyelashes, and visible jewelry are not permitted. Closed-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeve shirts are required, and uniforms and freezer jackets will be provided. The position involves working in and out of the freezer throughout the day. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a great work-life balance, with two consecutive days off, including a weekend day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hazleton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.25 - $20.25/hr.
