Part Time/Perm Brooklyn, NY 11212 Schedule Notes: 3 SHIFTS
AVAILABLE: 345P - 12A - SATURDAY & SUNDAY ONLY 11:45P - 8:00A -
OVERNIGHT - 3 days Sunday into Monday, Tuesday into Wednesday,
Thursday into Friday 11:45P - 8:00A - OVERNIGHT- 3 days Monday into
Tuesday, Wednesday into Thursday, Thursday into Friday. Pay Range:
$43.09 - $55.36 Per Hour plus benefits Position Summary: Perform
radiologic treatments for patients. Responsible for pre-treatment
services and delivery of radiologic treatment. Job
Responsibilities: Treatment of patients: -Arrange treatment
appointments. -Deliver radiation to patients in accordance with
physician’s instructions. -Operate all types of radiotherapy
equipment, i.e., Cobalt Therapy Unit, Linear Accelerator,
Simulator, etc. Pre-Treatment Preparation: -Operate simulator for
localization of tumor size and position. -Takes contours and
collects all physical factors for treatment plans. -Perform
dosimetry for treatment plans. -Take photographs of patients for
portal verifications, etc. Patient Care Activities: -Recognize all
types of radiation reactions and provides proper care and
instructions to patients. -Educate patients with respect to
radiation therapy reactions and also lifestyle modifications.
-Instruct incoming Residents and technologists in the use of
equipment. -Prepare Cerrobend alloy blocks. -Fabricate plastic
holders for blocks. -Construct and fabricate patient immobilization
devices. -Take and develop radiographs. -Maintain patient
management room neat and orderly. -Coordinate department with
inpatient activities to provide proper patient care. -When
necessary, transports inpatients. -Ensure the proper functioning
and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment. -Perform other
related duties as assigned. Skills: Required Skills & Experience:
-Knowledge of radiologic equipment in use at BHMC Good patient
interpersonal skills. -Ability to read and speak English Ability to
fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment, and
other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
-Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking
throughout the working day. -Position will be required to stoops,
bends, lifts, carry items weighing or exerting force up to 75
pounds. Preferred Skills & Experience: -Six (6) months to one (1)
year of x-ray or radiologic experience. Education: Required
Education: -High School diploma or equivalent. -Graduate of
accredited radiologic program. Preferred Education: -N/A Required
Certifications & Licensure: -Certification in the operation of
Radiologic equipment and treatment. Preferred Certifications &
