Radiology Tech Location: White Plains, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technology Specialty: Imaging Duration: Full-Time Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11 AM - 7 PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Relevant experience in diagnostic radiography License: Current Radiologic Technologist License Certifications: Certification in Radiologic Technology required Must-Have: Strong technical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Description: The Radiologic Technologist will work under the supervision of the Director and/or designee. Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patients for procedures. Assists Radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates, and cares for the equipment being used. Develops/processes film or CDs when required. Adheres to established radiology standards of care. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others when appropriate. Assumes responsibility for assigned areas and duties. Adheres to customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, including quality assurance tasks. Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following: Understands and adheres to performance standards, policies, and behaviors. Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality and completeness. Assists physicians during procedures as necessary. Performs equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed. Orders supplies. Maintains cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Processes images or prints CDs if needed. Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones and checking in patients. Obtains previous reports or films when necessary. Shows Radiologist images and communicates findings to the attending physician, documenting communications as needed. Provides clinical instructions to students. Treats all staff and patients in a professional and courteous manner. Introduces self and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered. Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care based on the physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations. Performs other related duties as required and attends staff meetings.
